50's Prime Time Cafe Review

Do you love comfort food? Are you a fan of retro decor? If so, then 50s Prime Time Cafe is for you! 50’s Prime Time Cafe is a table service restaurant serving lunch and dinner located inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios near Echo Lake. It’s one of the most popular restaurants in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and I was really excited to check it out! The interior is themed to look like a suburban home in the 1950s. From the moment we walked in the door, I was in love with the restaurant’s aesthetic. I felt like I had stepped onto the set of a classic America sitcom, or even the series premier of WandaVision. In typical Disney fashion, every detail down to the smallest knickknack is authentic, making you feel immersed in the 1950s theme.

This theming extends to the way that the servers interact with you. When you’re dining at 50s Prime Time Cafe, you’re eating in Mom’s kitchen and the servers are your cousins who are keeping an extra close watch on you to make sure that you’re not breaking any of Mom’s rules! They might remind you to keep your elbows off the table, put your napkin in your lap, or put your phone away. If you don’t get your act together, you might even be asked to stand in the corner.

The food at 50s Prime Time Cafe is best described as comfort food. The menu features favorites like fried chicken, meat loaf, and pot roast. They also have a great selection of desserts. On this trip, my kids ordered the chicken tenders and vegetables with the seasonal cupcake. My husband ordered the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and corn and I ordered the pot roast. None of us had any complaints about our food or the service we received.

All in all, we enjoyed our meal at 50s Prime Time Cafe. I wouldn’t necessarily put this restaurant at the top of my list of favorites. None of the items I sampled wowed me, but the food was good and if you’re looking for a fun themed dining experience then this a great choice. I’m definitely looking forward to coming back and trying some of the desserts!
